Date Malfunction

It’s the most wonderful time of year! No, I am not talking about Christmas; I am speaking about Leap day or week. A leap year is a year that contains one additional day in order to keep the calendar year synchronized with a seasonal year. A calendar that had the same number of days in each year would over time drift with respect to the event it was supposed to track. By inserting an additional day that drift is corrected.
Thanks to the date correction, we are able to have Spring when it is supposed to be Spring, and not summer. This brings us to another point, this coming weekend, we are turning our clocks ahead an hour, and Spring officially begins on March 20th, 2012.
So what does that have to do with us as women in God’s kingdom?
Luke 1:40-44 (NIV):
“She entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.
Isaiah 43:19 (NIV):
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Leap days bring order to the calendar, yet at times I have heard people feel as if their life is interrupted by having an extra day. Mary’s life was greatly interrupted with extreme favor, opportunity, and a shift in destiny. The above verse shares the conversation that Mary is having with her cousin Elizabeth, who is also pregnant by divine favor and grace. When they connected, their destiny within them came alive, and reminded them of their purpose as mothers, wives, and favor.
Let this be a simple reminder to you that God has not forgotten your purpose, destiny, and future, and as you connect with Him this week in your alone time with Him, let Him show you his love, and word for you! When you come into agreement with His word and promises for your life, your baby will leap, joy will increase, and faith abounds. Interruption does not mean destruction, frustration, or malfunction, but it means we need to readjust ourselves to align with God’s timing, change, and direction.
When we readjust our timing to the Father’s we will be on time, and will not miss the new season He has for us. God promises us a new thing in this season, and is asking us, “Do you perceive it?” Let us not be so distracted with our past failures or the enemy’s distraction that we do not take the time to ask the Father for understanding to position ourselves to enter into it.
Your challenge this week is to view interruption as an opportunity from God to agree with His promises, and leap into new joy through agreement with the Father’s will, and not our own fears, frustrations, excuses. The Father has said that He made a way, but are you willing to enter it?
Blessings!
